Fox Contracts has been recognised for excellence after completing the Banbridge Public Realm Scheme in County Down, which has transformed the town centre.
The project, commissioned by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, was named Social/Community Public Realm & Landscaping Project of the Year at the Construction Employers Federation (CEF) Excellence Awards 2025.
The £6 million scheme revitalised Banbridge town centre with a focus on accessibility, functionality, and streetscape quality while preserving the town’s character. Key works included a major junction redesign, high-quality paving, upgraded lighting, street furniture and landscaping, creating a more attractive and functional environment for residents, visitors and businesses.
CEF judges highlighted Fox Contracts' project delivery and community engagement, noting that the team not only executed the works to a high standard but also managed business and public interaction effectively throughout construction.

Meanwhile, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Chair of Council's Economic Development and Regeneration Committee, Councillor Tim McClelland, added: "This award is a testament not only to the exceptional work of Fox Contracts but also to the collaborative spirit between council, contractors, local businesses and the community. Banbridge is now better connected, more accessible and more attractive than ever before – supporting local enterprise, tourism and town centre vitality for years to come."
The project reinforces the council’s ongoing investment in public realm and place-making, supporting thriving, connected, and welcoming town centres across the borough.
