Dublin-based contractor Duggan Brothers has delivered the Dublin Simon Community Medical Residential Treatment Facility, a project that has been recognised as both Contractor Health Project of the Year and Overall Project of the Year at the Irish Construction Industry Awards.
Situated on Usher's Island, Dublin, the purpose-built six-storey facility provides 100 beds alongside specialised medical and recovery services for individuals experiencing homelessness. The development includes gyms, counselling and meeting rooms and semi-acute medical spaces designed for detoxification, rehabilitation, and care for blood-borne viruses.
The project was delivered in close collaboration with Dublin Simon Community management, O'Connell Mahon Architects, and the wider design and project team. Managed by Dublin Simon Community and partially funded by the Department of Housing, the facility represents a significant addition to Dublin's healthcare infrastructure, combining modern construction with purpose-driven functionality.
