Lisaniskey National School in County Roscommon is taking steps to accommodate its growing student population with support from Galway-headquartered construction company Coffey.

The school, which has seen a rise in enrolments, recently purchased a prefabricated classroom to maintain high-quality learning facilities, after a planning extension for additional space was not granted. The €50,000 cost of the new classroom will be covered through a multi-year fundraising effort.

Coffey's Contracts Manager, Declan Murphy, met with Principal Noel Dervan and Deputy Principal Olivia Dolan to discuss the development and show the company's support for the project.

The initiative highlights the school's proactive approach to addressing space challenges and the importance of providing suitable learning environments for pupils. Coffey emphasised that supporting such projects aligns with its commitment to building both essential infrastructure and stronger local communities.
