Farrans Construction has completed a major water main replacement project in Newtownmanor, Leitrim, improving the reliability of the local water supply.
The project involved replacing more than 1km of ageing water mains along the L4153 at Leckaun as part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme.
The new pipework has significantly reduced bursts and supply interruptions, while also eliminating the leakage of treated drinking water into the ground.
Uisce Éireann's Programme Manager Patricia Lowry highlighted the benefits for the community, noting that the works had been delivered with minimal disruption to local residents: "Replacing that old stretch of water mains has significantly improved the reliability of supply for our customers. Our crews worked to minimise disruption for the community, and we thank locals for their support while the works were ongoing."
