Cork County Council has announced that applications for the Community Climate Action Programme (CCAP) Strand 1, Call 2 will open on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, running for a period of eight weeks.

The programme, delivered in partnership with the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), provides targeted funding to community groups through a competitive application process to support local climate action projects across Cork County.

Designed to empower communities to take practical steps toward low-carbon, sustainable living, the CCAP aims to help meet national climate and energy targets while strengthening local resilience.

Under Strand 1, Call 2, eligible community organisations can apply for up to 100% funding across three project categories:

• Small-scale projects: Up to €20,000

• Medium-scale projects: €20,000 – €50,000

• Large-scale projects: €51,000 – €100,000

Proposed projects should focus on one or more of the following five key themes:

• Community energy

• Travel

• Food and waste

• Shopping and recycling

• Local climate and environmental action

The initiative is a central element of Cork County Council's Climate Action Plan 2024–2029, which sets out the Council’s vision to support and collaborate with communities in transitioning to a low-carbon, climate-resilient future.
