AG Paving Switches To 100% Local Renewable Energy

AG Paving + Building Products, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality walling, paving, and facing brick, has announced a strategic partnership with 3T Power that has resulted in the company operating on 100% locally-generated renewable energy.

The move is described as a powerful step that reinforces the third-generation, family-run business's commitment to sustainability and environmental leadership within the construction materials sector.

Lisa Fenner, Group Procurement & Transport Manager at AG Paving + Building Products, outlined the company's focus: "AG has prioritised reducing environmental impact through measurable actions, including significant reductions in Scope 1 & 2 emissions."

By making the switch to 100% renewable electricity—sourced exclusively from Northern Ireland-based renewable generators, primarily wind—AG Paving is doubling down on its commitment to its decarbonisation goals while simultaneously supporting the local economy.

The energy supply extends across all of AG's manufacturing and office locations, including Fivemiletown, Carryduff, Pomeroy, and Toome.

Ms Fenner added: "Partnering with a local supplier like 3T Power allows us to source clean, locally generated wind energy, reinforcing our dedication to responsible sourcing while simultaneously strengthening the Northern Ireland economy."

Shauna Forbes, Director of 3T Power, noted that their work extends beyond a traditional supplier–customer relationship, offering advice and consultancy support throughout the client's sustainability journey.

AG Paving + Building Products is already recognised as a leader in responsible business practices, holding multiple sustainability accolades, including Best Sustainable Business (SME) at The Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards and Sustainable Manufacturing Business of the Year at the 2024 Business Eye Sustainability Awards. It is hoped the partnership will serve as a catalyst for wider change across both the energy and construction sectors.
