Applications are now being accepted for the Historic Structures Fund 2026, following the recent announcement by Minister of State for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity, Christopher O’Sullivan, TD.
The fund aims to invest in Ireland's built heritage, supporting owners and custodians of historic structures to safeguard them for future generations and benefit communities and the public.
For 2026, grants will range from €50,000 to €200,000 and will focus on larger enhancement, refurbishment, or reuse projects involving heritage structures. Eligible projects must demonstrate either:
• A clear community or public benefit
• A clear residential benefit (residential projects must be appropriately advanced through the planning process)
Applicants are required to submit the following documentation:
• Completed Application Form A
• Comprehensive Method Statement for the works, prepared by a competent conservation professional
• Application Checklist
