GRAHAM has been selected to construct new offices and laboratory facilities for Forensic Science Northern Ireland (FSNI) in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, under the project known as Project Atlas.
The development will provide modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation for FSNI staff, supporting the agency's critical role in Northern Ireland's criminal justice system. The construction contract is expected to begin at the end of the financial year, following a six-month detailed design period.
Jonathan Hall, GRAHAM's Group Chief Operating Officer, said: "Our experienced team look forward to collaborating with Forensic Science Northern Ireland to deliver a state-of-the-art development that will provide modern forensic facilities with thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces to connect with nature and enhance staff wellbeing."
During a recent site visit, Justice Minister Naomi Long met with FSNI staff to learn more about their work and the upcoming development. She added: "The crucial work FSNI does in the criminal justice system is much appreciated. Project Atlas will ensure staff have the opportunity to work in modern, fit-for-purpose facilities that will enable the continued delivery of a valued service."
