The construction phase for a new covered sports facility in Antrim is set to begin after Lauralu UK & Ireland confirmed an early December 2025 installation date for a bespoke temporary structure at the Padel Society club in Muckamore.
The project will see Lauralu's team erect a specialised cover solution over the established courts, designed to allow continuous play and support the club's ongoing expansion regardless of weather conditions.
The structure's installation marks the completion of the planning phase, which involved extensive collaboration between the temporary building specialists and the client. The construction process was carefully scheduled to ensure a smooth operation with minimal disruption or closures to the operational club, which has seen strong engagement since opening.
Lauralu, which works across sectors including industrial, logistics, and leisure, was selected after the Padel Society team conducted visits to several of their installations in England to assess the quality and adaptability of the temporary structures. The final design and construction plan for the Muckamore site were developed following multiple site visits to meet the client’s precise structural requirements.
The new covered building is key to the Padel Society's growth strategy, enabling them to expand local community engagement, which currently includes running school sessions and team days with local sports clubs like Larne FC and Ballymena United.
The project plans were formally marked at a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local council representatives and the Lord Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey.
