An updated version of the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF) website has been welcomed by Minister of State for Public Procurement, Digitalisation and eGovernment, Emer Higgins TD.
The CWMF is the mandatory set of policies, guidance materials, and contracts used for the delivery of public sector construction projects in Ireland, particularly those that are over 50% funded by the state, covering the entire project lifecycle.
The updated site, now located at the new address, aims to be more accessible, user-friendly, and better aligned with the needs of those engaging with public works contracts and the wider construction sector.
Key construction and project management resources that have been introduced or improved include:
• Design and Navigation: All essential documents required for Public Works Contracts, including technical updates, templates, and comprehensive guidance, are now consolidated in a single, easily accessible location.
• Support Tools: New learning tools have been added, such as a simple, step-by-step guide to help users select the correct contract type, along with a decision tree to assist in choosing the appropriate notification letters.
• Updated Resources: The site now features live CSO Indices relevant to CWMF contract management and includes a fee adjustment mechanism tool designed to assist with inflation adjustments for contracts.
Minister Higgins stated that the refreshed website is a key step in simplifying the process for public sector construction projects:
"The refreshed CWMF website is a practical step forward in making the process for public sector construction projects more accessible and user-friendly.
"These improvements will support better project delivery and empower stakeholders with the tools and information they need.
"These enhancements align with DPER’s strategic goals to promote innovation and digital adoption in the construction sector, support Project Ireland 2040 and the National Development Plan, and deliver quality procurement solutions for the public service."
The site also features improved mobile compatibility and faster performance. Visitors to the previous site are automatically redirected to the new address.
