Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne TD officially opened the latest phase of the Strand Hill housing development in Crobally Upper, Tramore.
The launch was part of a series of housing events across Waterford.
Minister Browne was joined by Minister of State for Local Government and Planning John Cummins TD, Minister of State for Mental Health and Older People Mary Butler TD, representatives from Waterford City and County Council, project partners, and new member tenants for the opening.
Delivered by Co-operative Housing Ireland in partnership with Waterford City and County Council and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the second phase of Strand Hill adds 14 A-rated apartments, combining modern design with energy efficiency, affordability, and long-term comfort.
The overall development now provides 25 new homes, including seven one-bedroom apartments, 13 two-bedroom homes, and five three-bedroom houses. The project was delivered under the Department’s Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) scheme, addressing local housing demand in Tramore.
Co-operative Housing Ireland was represented at the launch by Padraic Clancy, Director of New Development, and Danny Whelan, National Operations Manager.
Padraic Clancy said: "Co-operative Housing Ireland is proud to deliver these new homes in partnership with Waterford City and County Council and the Department of Housing.
