Clanmil Housing Wins Residential Development Of The Year

Clanmil Housing has been awarded Residential Development of the Year at the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2025 for its new Savoy apartment building in Bangor.

Sponsored by Progressive Building Society, the award recognises the high-quality design and construction standards of Clanmil's latest development, which extends the existing Savoy complex. The project features 26 two-bedroom apartments for people aged 55 and over, blending modern design with Art Deco influences that reflect the heritage of the original 1932 Savoy Hotel. The development also marks a significant milestone for Clanmil, representing the completion of its 6,000th home.

Jan Sloan, Executive Director of Development and New Business at Clanmil Housing, said: "This is a proud moment for us. We're all about building homes and communities for people who need them. Being able to enhance the quality of the living environment for our existing customers in Bangor and The Savoy, while also welcoming new customers to a place they can call their own and truly make theirs, that's what we’re all about. We’re delighted to be able to fulfil that mission.

"People are at the heart of everything we do. We’re in the middle of a housing crisis, and our goal as a social enterprise is to deliver more homes, to get people off waiting lists and into places they can call home. Our role as landlords is to help those individuals sustain their tenancies and be part of the wider community into the future.

"It's a great privilege. What keeps us motivated in our business is seeing people move into good-quality homes they love and knowing that we’re improving lives."
