Construction has begun on a modern waste transfer facility on Geron Way, off the A5 Edgware Road, with NI construction firm McLaughlin & Harvey mobilised on site for Barnet Council.

The £33 million scheme, part of the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme, is scheduled to complete in summer 2027.

As main contractor, McLaughlin & Harvey will deliver a 9000sqm waste transfer station for Barnet Council and the North London Waste Authority (NLWA). The scope includes piled foundations, a steel frame superstructure and external landscaping. The building is targeting a BREEAM Very Good rating and is designed to minimise operational impacts on local residents while boosting biodiversity. The project adds to the contractor’s growing portfolio across London and the South East.
