Almost 190 homes in Rostrevor, Warrenpoint, Newry, Bessbrook, Newtownhamilton and Crossmaglen have received new double-glazed windows as part of a significant Housing Executive upgrade.
Delivered in partnership with M&M Contractors, the Housing Executive invested around £750,000 in PVC double-glazing to help tenants keep their homes warmer and lower energy costs.
The work is part of an ongoing programme to modernise properties and enhance tenants’ quality of life. The new glazing is also expected to reduce the area’s carbon footprint and improve comfort, while the window design aims to minimise moisture build-up to tackle mould and damp.
Housing Executive Area Manager, Claire Crainey said: "We are delighted that these double-glazed windows have now been fitted. The Housing Executive have been long committed to improving the quality of housing for our tenants and initiatives like this one continue to make a significant difference to the lives of our tenants."
Scott Montgomery from M&M Contractors added: "Installation of double-glazed PVC windows will significantly reduce heat loss, keeping these homes warmer in the upcoming winter months, especially.
"We are pleased to be able to aid in improving people’s living conditions and it is our hope these windows do just that!"
