Uisce Éireann has announced the successful completion of vital upgrades to strengthen the drinking water supply for local homes and businesses across Ballyshannon.
Delivered under the National Leakage Reduction Programme, the works saw over 400 metres of old mains replaced on West Port, significantly cutting leakage and enhancing water quality. New service connections were also installed from the public main to customer boundaries to further bolster supply resilience.
Patricia Lowry, Uisce Éireann Programme Manager, said: "Replacing this stretch of water mains has brought lasting benefits for our customers in the area, including improved water quality and greater confidence in their supply. Our crews worked hard to minimise disruption, and we are grateful to the local community for their patience and support as we delivered these essential works."
Farrans Construction carried out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
