Uisce Éireann has issued a Boil Water Notice for approximately 287 customers supplied by the Kilmagnier Public Water Supply Scheme in North Cork, following consultation with the Health Service Executive (HSE).
The notice has been put in place due to increased turbidity affecting the water treatment process at the Kilmagnier Water Treatment Plant. As a result, all affected consumers are being advised to boil their water before drinking in order to protect public health.
Customers can check whether their property is impacted by visiting the Uisce Éireann website and entering their Eircode, or by contacting the company's 24-hour customer care helpline on 1800 278 278. A map of the affected area is also available in the supply and service section of the website.
Uisce Éireann's Niall O'Riordan acknowledged the disruption caused by the notice and reassured customers that work is underway to resolve the issue. "We regret any inconvenience caused for impacted customers. Public health is Uisce Éireann’s number one priority and we would like to assure customers that the notice has been put in place to protect public health. We acknowledge the inconvenience caused to homes and businesses and would like to assure customers that we are working to resolve the issue and lift the notice as quickly and as safely possible."
