Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan has praised the allocation of more than £1 million for active travel schemes spanning three councils in the north.
The package, announced by Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins, will support initiatives within Belfast City Council, Derry City and Strabane District Council, and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
The party's transport spokesperson said: "These active travel projects will help deliver cleaner and greener connections for people while also bringing positive change for the economy and environment.
"More spaces for people to enjoy walking, running, wheeling and cycling is also a huge boost for people’s health, both mentally and physically.
"This funding will help the three councils deliver on these goals and it is a clear sign of the Minister Kimmins' commitment to helping the councils develop and deliver these greenway projects."
