Water supply is beginning to return for affected customers after Uisce Éireann completed complex repairs to a key trunk main in north Dublin.
Crews worked through Friday night, Saturday and into Saturday night to fix the main after two major bursts. The operation was complicated due to the scale of the damage and the main's proximity to the M1 motorway.
Tselopile Tlou, Water Network Operations Manager, Uisce Éireann, said: "Having worked tirelessly, our crews have completed all repair works. Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage, and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience while repairs were underway. We would ask customers in the impacted areas to be mindful that it may take longer for normal supply to be fully restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges."
Areas that experienced outages include: Baskin, Kinsealy, Balgriffin, Belcamp, Clonshaugh, Stockhole, Coachman's, Cloghran, Corballis, Turnapin, Dardistown, Airways Industrial Estate, Royal Oak and Santry. Parts of Clonshaugh Road, Clongriffin, Baldoyle, Portmarnock, Bayside, Sutton, Stapolin, Kilbarrack and Howth were affected by reduced pressure.
