The Department for Education (DfE) has appointed construction and development company GRAHAM to deliver a major £37 million redevelopment of The Castle Rock School in Coalville, Leicestershire.
Headquartered in County Down, GRAHAM will lead a significant transformation of the existing secondary and sixth form campus, delivering new and upgraded facilities designed to support up to 1,550 pupils. The project includes the construction of a new two-storey school building alongside the refurbishment and remodelling of a retained structure. Several outdated blocks will be demolished to accommodate modern, high-quality learning spaces.
In addition to new teaching facilities, the redevelopment programme will provide enhanced outdoor learning and play areas, a three-court multi-use games area (MUGA), new sports pitches, and wider improvements across the school site.
Upon completion, the redeveloped campus will offer modern, fit-for-purpose facilities aimed at supporting both academic achievement and pastoral care for students aged 11 to 18.
Lindsey Crabtree, Education Director at GRAHAM, said: "Creating inspiring, resilient and future-focused learning environments sits at the heart of what we do at GRAHAM. The Castle Rock School project is about supporting the school’s ambitions and improving the day-to-day experience for pupils and teachers, while ensuring that the estate is ready for the next generation of learners. We are pleased to be working with the DfE and the school community to bring these plans forward."
