Causeway Coast and Glens Sinn Féin councillor Oliver McMullan has said work on the Layde Cliff Path is now expected to start in May, following a meeting with council officers about the project timeline.
Speaking after the meeting Councillor McMullan said: "Following on from our meeting in December, Council officers have told me that work on Layde Cliff Path will be brought forward by a number of months and work is due to begin in May.
"The Design Team has been on site and the tendering process is progressing in preparation for the works.
"I will be meeting with Council officers again in the coming weeks for a further update on progress.
"The Cliff Path is a valued local and tourist amenity and it's important we continue to work to ensure it is fully restored and reopened for the benefit of the local community and visitors to the Glens."
