Belfast City Council has issued a final call for public feedback on Belfast Stories, a transformative cultural and regeneration initiative slated for the city centre.
With the statutory pre-application community consultation set to conclude on Thursday 5 February 2026, only two weeks remain for stakeholders to review and comment on the latest concept designs.
The £100 million flagship project, a primary investment under the Belfast Region City Deal, will be situated at the site of the former Bank of Ireland building on Royal Avenue. Scheduled for completion in 2030, the development is envisioned as a premier visitor attraction, creative hub, and public space. Once operational, it is projected to draw hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, fostering job creation and supporting wider urban renewal.
The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly, has urged the public to engage with the process before a formal planning application is submitted later this year.
Councillor Kelly stated: "This is a once-in-a-generation project for our city, and we want as many people as possible to help shape what it becomes. Whether you live, work or visit Belfast, I'd encourage you to go online, take a look at the latest proposals, and have your say before the consultation closes. This is your chance to influence how we tell Belfast's stories and create a space that belongs to everyone."
Interested parties can view the detailed proposals and submit their views via the council's dedicated engagement portal at yoursay.belfastcity.gov.uk/belfast-stories.
