Women In Construction Summit 2026 To Target Industry Solutions

The Women in Construction Summit 2026 has been announced under the theme "Challenges We Face. Solutions We Build."

The event is designed to facilitate high-level networking and provide a platform for delegates to address the structural and cultural issues currently shaping the Northern Ireland construction sector.

The full-day conference will cover a broad range of critical topics, including workforce capacity, digital delivery, and supply chain resilience. Attendees will also participate in discussions regarding regulatory changes, commercial pressures, and the importance of creating inclusive career pathways.

A major highlight of the programme is a live "In Conversation" session featuring Michaela Wain—an EDI advocate and 2017 finalist on BBC's The Apprentice. Hosted by broadcaster Sarah Travers, the interactive session will focus on apprenticeships, inclusion, and leadership, allowing for direct audience participation.

Rachel Dorovatas of CITB NI emphasized the importance of the gathering, stating: "The Women in Construction Summit is a call to action for our industry. The challenges we face, from skills shortages and workforce sustainability to cultural change that requires commitment from everyone. This Summit is about coming together to challenge thinking, share solutions and build an industry that works better for women and for the sector as a whole."

Shauna Young from the Women in Construction Network (WICN) highlighted the link between inclusion and industry performance: "This Summit reflects the strength and potential of women across construction. By bringing people together to share experience, challenge barriers and focus on solutions, we continue to build momentum for positive change across the industry. An inclusive construction industry is not just the right thing to do, it is essential for productivity, resilience and long-term success. Events like this help us turn ambition into action."

Nuala Griffiths, ESG Manager at Heron Bros, added: "The Women in Construction Summit creates an important space for open, practical conversations about the realities of our industry. It encourages collaboration, challenges assumptions and helps organisations better understand how inclusive leadership strengthens teams, performance and delivery."
