Final Phase Of £469,000 Limavady Resurfacing Works To Begin

The Department for Infrastructure has confirmed that work on the £469,000 carriageway resurfacing schemes in Limavady will resume on Monday, 2 February 2026. The upcoming works on the A371 Rathmore Road and U2510 Scriggan Road are required to facilitate the application of the final surface course.

The project covers a 694-metre stretch of Rathmore Road, extending from the Broad Road junction toward Church Street. Additionally, a 434-metre section of Scriggan Road will be resurfaced between its junctions with Rathmore Road and Dowland Road.

To ensure the safety of both the public and site workers, daily road closures will be implemented between 09:30 and 16:30. These closures will affect the route from the U2508 Alexander Road to the A37 Broad Road, running from Monday, 2 February until Friday, 6 February 2026.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place for the duration of the works:

• Diversion 1: Traffic will be redirected via the A37 Broad Road, A2 Ballykelly Road, A2 Windyhill Road, A371 Station Road, A371 Main Street, A371 Main Street Roundabout, A371 Ballyclose Street, A371 Church Street, C570 Scroggy Road, and the C570 Greystone Road.

• Diversion 2: An alternative route is available via the B201 Dowland Road, A2 Windyhill Road, and B201 Killane Road.

While the Department has planned the traffic management to reduce disruption, road users are advised to anticipate delays and allow extra time for their journeys. Local access will be maintained where possible, but all motorists are requested to adhere to the temporary traffic restrictions.

Provided weather conditions remain favourable, the Department expects the schemes to be substantially complete by Friday, 6 February 2026.
