McAvoy has been shortlisted for five honours at the 2026 MMC Awards, a showcase that celebrates excellence, innovation and best practice in modern methods of construction (MMC).
The recognition underscores the commitment of its teams, the strength of its collaborations, and the positive outcomes its modular solutions are delivering in education, healthcare and across the wider sector.
Shortlisted across five categories, the programme highlights McAvoy’s ability to produce high-quality, sustainable and future-ready buildings for varied project needs. The categories and projects are outlined below.
Best Temporary Building Project – Public Sector (Education/Healthcare): Oasis Academy Temple Quarter. Developed to meet a growing pupil roll, the temporary modular scheme provides a rapid, flexible and fully compliant learning environment. The facility has been extended annually, with further additions planned for 2026.
Manufacturer of the Year – Category 1 Construction. This recognises McAvoy’s capability in Category 1 volumetric delivery, supported by robust design, manufacturing and logistics processes, digital transformation and strong customer satisfaction. From controlled factory production to efficient installation, the company continues to set benchmarks for safety, sustainability and consistent quality.
Project of the Year – Education (Secondary and Higher): Leeds City College – Park Lane Campus. Installed and completed in just 19 weeks, the multi-storey permanent building met demanding programme, quality and sustainability targets, creating a modern learning environment that supports teaching and student experience in central Leeds.
Project of the Year – Healthcare (Primary Care): Good Hope Hospital. The modular facility was designed to support essential clinical services while maintaining continuity of care. Social value outcomes included diverting 99% of waste from landfill and employing 20% of the workforce from within 15 miles. With 70% of the building manufactured offsite and installed with minimal disruption to the live hospital, it provides compliant, patient-focused spaces that meet NHS standards.
Project of the Year – Education (SEND/CAMHS/Mental Health): Hetton Lyons Primary School. Offsite construction was used to create inclusive, specialist spaces tailored to wellbeing, learning and staff support, delivered at pace to meet urgent needs. The new SEND unit, replacing buildings no longer fit for purpose, was officially opened by Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson in November 2025.
Being recognised across such a broad spread of categories underlines McAvoy’s breadth of capability, the dedication of its people and the trust of clients and partners. The company congratulates everyone involved and all fellow nominees, and looks forward to the 2026 MMC Awards.
