Northern Ireland's Department for Infrastructure has announced a £290,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the Kilhoyle Road, Limavady, reinforcing investment in local road assets and supporting reliable connectivity for the area.
The project will deliver approximately 1.5km of resurfacing, starting after the Drumsurn Road junction and continuing past the Gortnarney Road junction. The works form part of ongoing network maintenance to improve ride quality, resilience and safety for all users.
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said: "This is a substantial investment for the Limavady area which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users. The investment demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
To facilitate safe delivery, a daily road closure will operate from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm between Monday 16 February 2026 and Friday 6 March 2026. Signed diversions will be in place via U2266 Cloghan Road, C529 Drumsurn Road, B64 Legavallon Road and B190 Belraugh Road, and vice versa.
The Department has scheduled works and traffic management to minimise disruption. While local access will be maintained where possible, road users should expect delays, allow additional time for journeys in the vicinity, and adhere to all temporary traffic restrictions.
Subject to favourable weather, the scheme is expected to be substantially complete by Friday 6 March 2026.
