Designer Group Helps Reach 250,000 LTI-Free Hours On Irish Pharma Project

Designer Group has helped its client record 250,000 hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) on a major pharmaceutical manufacturing scheme in Ireland.

The company's work package covers process mechanical and electrical installations for a new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) building located on an active production site. Operating within a live pharma environment adds complexity, demanding rigorous planning, close coordination and strict compliance with safety and regulatory rules.

The scope includes laying more than 7,900 metres of black and clean utility pipework, complex equipment move-in and positioning for critical process assets, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation installations, and complete general services to underpin facility operations.

Martin Fagan, Operations Director, commented: "Helping our client achieve 250,000 LTI-free work hours is a testament to the professionalism and commitment of our people and project partners. This milestone reinforces our commitment to ensuring everyone returns home safe every day."

Designer Group says safety is embedded in its culture, supported by visible leadership, dedicated safety officers and a proactive site-based safety team. Regular training, audits, permit-to-work systems and lock-out/tag-out procedures are employed to maintain safe practices across disciplines, with teams encouraged to report hazards and near misses to foster transparency and accountability.

Reaching the 250,000 LTI-free milestone reflects sustained vigilance, robust safety systems and the collective commitment of all project participants to uphold top health and safety standards in a tightly regulated pharmaceutical setting.
