£650,000 Resurfacing Underway On B122 Ecclesville Road

A £650,000 upgrade of the Ecclesville Road at Murley Mountain, Fintona, will begin on Monday 9 March 2026, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed. The project will improve a 2.2km stretch of the B122.

The scheme includes carriageway resurfacing, structural patching and targeted drainage works, running from the U1232 Corbally Road junction to the Ballyness Road junction.

Minister Kimmins said: "This substantial investment of £650,000 in the Fintona to Fivemiletown route will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users. This demonstrates my commitment to investing in and improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."

To deliver the works safely, the Ecclesville Road will be closed between Aghafad Road and Ballyness Road, Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm, for a four‑week period starting 9 March 2026.

During these times, signed diversions will operate via Ecclesville Road, Aghafad Road, Fintona Road, the A4 Ballagh Road and the A4 Edfield Way (Fivemiletown), and vice versa.

The Department has planned operations and traffic management to minimise disruption. While local access and Translink bus and school services will be accommodated, road users should expect some delays, allow extra time and comply with all temporary traffic measures.

Subject to favourable weather, the scheme is expected to be substantially complete by Friday 3 April 2026. The Department will provide updates on any changes.
