Final Call For Public Input On 'Grow College Green' Redesign

Dublin City Council has issued a final reminder to the public regarding the consultation period for the 'Grow College Green' pre-planning design.

Residents, businesses, commuters, and visitors have until midnight today, 11 March 2026, to share their perspectives on the flagship project before the formal deadline closes.

The initiative aims to reimagine one of the most significant civic spaces in Dublin, with the goal of transforming the location into a greener, safer, and more accessible destination. The current updated design is the result of an extensive community engagement programme that commenced in August 2024. This process has already included more than 100 in-person events with local businesses, community groups, and Disabled Persons Representative Organisations (DPROs), as well as two previous rounds of consultation that generated over 2,800 submissions.

The proposed vision focuses on a high-quality public realm designed to accommodate social interaction, cultural programming, and daily activities, while providing quiet areas within the city centre. Under the new plans, the area will transition into a pedestrian-priority space featuring enhanced seating, more shade, clearer routes, and improved planting. The project also prioritises climate resilience and sustainability through the use of nature-based drainage solutions, high-quality materials, and increased tree planting to align with the city's broader environmental goals.

To date, the latest phase of the design has attracted nearly 1,000 submissions. Detailed visualisations, plans, and supporting documentation remain accessible for review on Engage.ie until midnight tomorrow.

Members of the public can submit their views through the following channels until 11 March 2026:

• Online survey: www.engage.dublincity.ie/en-IE/projects/grow-college-green

• By post: Grow College Green Project, City Centre Projects Office, Block 2, Floor 7, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8

• In person: Via comment sheets located at the consultation table in the Atrium, Block 4, Floor 0, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8
