KeolisAmey has been awarded the contract to run Dublin's Luas light rail, starting on 1 September 2026.

The seven-year deal, which can be extended by up to a further six years, will be delivered in partnership with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and the National Transport Authority (NTA).

The Keolis and Amey joint venture will take on operations and maintenance of the capital's tram network, pledging to act as custodians of the system for passengers and employees.

Planned early improvements include enhanced services, an initial deep clean of Luas stops, the roll-out of proven service delivery, operations and maintenance processes used on other networks, and remote monitoring solutions for light rail assets and infrastructure to detect and prevent failures.

The contract formally commences on 1 September 2026 with a core term of seven years and an option to extend for up to six more.
