Designer Group has announced a significant safety achievement on a major data centre project in Vienna, reaching 750,000 hours worked without a Lost Time Injury (LTI).
The milestone was hit during the delivery of a 9.6 MW facility, which forms part of a larger hyperscale campus.
The project utilises a standardised, modular design intended to allow for rapid scaling while maintaining a focus on high levels of efficiency and sustainability. Designer Group confirmed it has now delivered the full mechanical and electrical (M&E) scope for the development.
The company is currently moving through the commissioning phase for the systems supporting the site's critical infrastructure. Given the intricate nature of cooling, power distribution, and mission-critical services, the construction of such facilities requires exacting standards to ensure future operational reliability.
Building in fast-paced construction environments necessitates rigorous safety management and detailed coordination. Designer Group noted that maintaining these safe working conditions is vital for the efficient installation of complex systems while ensuring the protection of all personnel on-site.
Designer Group extended its thanks to its project partners, stating that reaching 750,000 LTI-free hours is a testament to the technical expertise, professionalism, and commitment of everyone involved in the Vienna data centre project.
