Errigal Group Completes Acquisition of Woodmarque Joinery

The Errigal Group has announced the acquisition of Woodmarque, a market leader in high-quality doorsets and specialist joinery.

The move is described by both parties as a "strong cultural fit" that will facilitate further strategic growth across the UK and Irish commercial and luxury residential sectors.

Founded nearly 50 years ago by Brian Quinn, Woodmarque has seen significant expansion in recent years. Since 2019, the firm has more than doubled its manufacturing footprint in Dungannon from 50,000 sq ft to 130,000 sq ft. This growth has been accompanied by a doubling of its workforce and a six-fold increase in turnover over the past decade.

Despite the change in ownership, the Quinn family and the existing senior leadership team will continue to head the business. Ronan Quinn, Managing Director of Woodmarque, emphasised that the transition would be seamless for staff, customers, and suppliers.

Damien Treanor, Managing Director of Errigal Group, said: "Our companies have known each other for many years and there is a strong cultural fit, rooted in common family-ownership values, so this deal makes sense for everyone. Woodmarque is a successful business with a strong balance sheet, and we are delighted to welcome them into the Errigal family."

Ronan Quinn added: "We have worked collaboratively with Errigal for many years now. Not only are they highly professional, but they have built up a business portfolio into which we will fit comfortably. As far as we are concerned it will be business as usual... albeit within part of a much bigger group."

The acquisition follows Woodmarque's own recent expansion, including the purchase of Bristol-based Doorlining.com Ltd in March 2024. The firm specialises in precise, high-volume joinery for office fit-outs, hospitality, and large-scale residential developments.

The Errigal Group, established 30 years ago by Damien Treanor and Cormac McCloskey, now employs over 1,800 people across four divisions: Contracts, Facades, Technologies, and Sustainable Solutions. Woodmarque joins other recent Group acquisitions, including Potter Cowan, Gillespie, and Comfort Frame, further diversifying Errigal's specialist construction services.
