Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed a £1.1 million programme to resurface two sections of the A29 Moy Road in Armagh.
The scheme covers a 900m stretch from north of the Grange Blundell Road junction to south of the Kinbawn Road junction, and an 850m stretch from north of Aghanore Road to south of Drumcairn Road. Significant carriageway repairs are also planned near Cabragh Road. Investigatory and preparatory works will run from Monday 30 March to Saturday 4 April, with the main resurfacing due to begin on Monday 13 April, subject to favourable weather conditions.
Minister Kimmins said: "This investment in these essential maintenance resurfacing works will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users and demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
Traffic management will be in place to ensure safety and quality, including a temporary 40mph speed limit throughout. Phase one involves overnight closures from 8pm to 6am until Saturday 4 April 2026. Phase two will see works under traffic control daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm, alongside overnight closures from 8pm to 6am between Monday 13 April and Saturday 2 May 2026. During overnight closures, traffic will be diverted via: Moy Road, Railway Street, Lonsdale Road, College Hill, Portadown Road, Dobbin Road, Armagh Road. Northway, Brownstown Road, Charles Street, Corcrain Road, Dungannon Road, Moy Road, Ardress Road, Summerisland Road, Collegelands Road, Main Street, Armagh Road.
