Uisce Éireann has confirmed the successful completion of essential overnight replacement of a water main on Main Street in Letterkenny.
Delivered ahead of Donegal County Council's planned town centre regeneration, the upgrade ensures critical below-ground infrastructure is in place before surface improvements begin, helping to prevent future disruption.
Patricia Lowry, Leakage Reduction Programme Manager with Uisce Éireann, said: "We were happy to facilitate these overnight works in advance of Donegal County Council commencing their regeneration project. Carrying out the upgrades now means the water network is ready for what’s ahead while keeping disruption to a minimum. I’d like to sincerely thank local businesses, residents, and motorists for their patience and support while the works were underway."
Farrans Construction carried out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann, and the cooperation of the local community was welcomed in ensuring the project was completed safely and successfully.
