Plans Approved For 67-Home Development In Magheramason

Derry City and Strabane District Council's Planning Committee has approved plans for a new residential development that will bring 67 homes to Magheramason.

The decision was made during the committee's monthly meeting on 1 April 2026, giving the green light for construction at 131 Victoria Road. The approved scheme includes a mix of housing types, comprising seven detached homes, 54 semi-detached properties, and six townhouses, along with associated landscaping and ancillary works.

Committee members unanimously supported the application, highlighting its potential to ease ongoing housing pressures in the area.

"It represents another investment to the city that will assist in addressing the current pressure on the housing market. The Council is very much in favour of the creation of good quality, modern housing that is in keeping with our Strategic Growth Plan objectives. This development is a good news story for the Council area."
