Coffey Expands Plant Fleet To Strengthen Infrastructure Delivery

Irish civil engineering and construction company Coffey has broadened its fleet of plant and equipment in a move designed to enhance the safe, efficient delivery of complex infrastructure at scale.

The latest purchases are part of a wider, ongoing investment programme aimed at meeting rising project demand across the business.

Working with TBF Thompson (Garvagh) Ltd, the company has added a new line-up of excavators and compaction machinery, ensuring project teams have the right tools for modern infrastructure delivery in varied settings.

The expanded excavator range spans 35-tonne machines for heavy civil works, 20-tonne and 13-tonne units for general duties, and smaller 9.5-tonne and 5.5-tonne models for confined or restricted sites. This mix provides the flexibility to deploy the best-fit plant for each task and location.

A 15-tonne wheeled excavator has also joined the fleet, bolstering capability for roadworks and urban environments where mobility and versatility are essential.

To support groundworks and finishing, Coffey has introduced new compaction equipment, including 1.2-metre and 0.9-metre rollers.

Together, the additions strengthen delivery across water, energy, transport and civil engineering projects, helping to maintain consistent performance regardless of scale or complexity.

Equipping sites with the right plant improves safety, drives productivity and enables rapid adaptation to changing requirements. Coffey's Plant Department underpins this by maintaining all equipment to high standards so it is reliable in operation and ready when required, helping to minimise downtime and keep project teams focused on delivery.

The fleet expansion aligns with Coffey's long-term growth strategy as the company scales its operations and enhances delivery capability in key sectors. Investment in plant, people and processes remains central to these plans, reflecting the company’s purpose of enhancing communities through engineering excellence and delivering infrastructure with lasting impact.
