A new Site Supervisor Academy has been launched in Mid Ulster to help experienced construction workers progress into supervisory roles and gain the qualifications needed for the updated CSR (Construction Skills Register) Gold Site Supervisor Card.

The programme is being delivered by Training Solutions NI in partnership with the Mid Ulster Labour Market Partnership (LMP), led by Mid Ulster District Council, as part of the Department for Communities’ Employability NI programme. Funded by the Department for Communities, Labour Market Partnerships develop targeted employment action plans at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.

Under current industry requirements, site supervisors must hold an NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision to obtain or renew a CSR Gold Card. The Academy is designed to help participants meet this standard and advance within the construction sector.

Applications are invited from people living in the Mid Ulster District Council area who work in construction and want to move into site supervision. Current and aspiring supervisors, micro-business owners and those seeking progression within larger organisations are welcome, and employers are encouraged to nominate staff.

There are six free places available. Participants from Mid Ulster will be supported to complete the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction), undertake the CSR 4-Day Site Safety for Supervisors course, prepare for the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Supervisor Test, and apply for the CSR Gold Site Supervisor Card.

The programme will run from April to June 2026, combining classroom learning with practical, work-based assessment.
