Evara And SDCC Begin Construction Of Central Boulevard Park

Evara, Ireland's largest private housebuilder, and South Dublin County Council (SDCC) have broken ground on Central Boulevard Park, a new 1.3-hectare green space in Adamstown.

The park will act as a central green corridor linking Airlie Park with the Urban Plaza at The Crossings, Adamstown's town centre, and is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

Delivered in partnership by Evara and SDCC, the project sits within the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) Planning Scheme and is supported by the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF). Evara is the lead developer within the Adamstown SDZ and, alongside more than 2,200 new homes, has delivered major infrastructure including The Crossings retail park and Adamstown Town Centre, described as the first new town centre in Ireland since Shannon in the 1960s.

The project launch comes amid continued expansion at Evara. Backed by global investment firm TPG, the company is investing €2 billion to deliver more than 7,000 additional homes over the next five years. It has delivered over 3,000 homes to date across the Greater Dublin Area and is targeting an annual output of 1,500 homes.

When finished, Central Boulevard Park will combine natural play, recreation and biodiversity features, including eco-learning areas, dedicated wildlife habitats, a large plaza, outdoor seating and a network of adaptable green and hard-surfaced spaces for informal use and organised community events.

Play and activity facilities will serve all ages, from toddler play zones to a teen area with a basketball half-court and informal seating, a play hillock with an integrated slide, an earth-mounded natural play space, and a dedicated calisthenics area.

The start of works was marked by a sod-turning event attended by the Mayor of South Dublin, Cllr. Pamela Kearns; the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD; and Evara CEO Michael Hynes.

Mr Hynes said: "We are extremely pleased to have started construction on Central Boulevard Park. This is going to be a superb facility, adding significantly to our existing parks and public areas in Adamstown and providing a superb recreational amenity for existing and incoming residents of all ages. At Evara, we don't just develop new homes, we create new communities and neighbourhoods by ensuring our developments include the amenities and facilities homeowners need to enjoy a high-quality of living. The development of Central Boulevard Park is an important milestone in the continued development of Adamstown, reinforcing the SDZ's vision of a well-integrated, well-served and sustainable new community. I look forward to attending the official opening of the park later this year."
