Repair teams are working to re-establish normal water supplies to homes and businesses after a large burst early this morning on the rising main from Lisloose Reservoir, which serves Tralee, Ardfert and surrounding communities.
Crews are on site and works have commenced. Owing to the complexity of the burst, completing the fix and restoring full service to all impacted customers will take a number of hours.
Areas currently affected include Tralee town, Clogerbrine, Mounthawk, Caherslee, Spa, Churchill, Knockanish, Ballyroe, Blennerville, Curraheen and nearby areas.
John Fitzgerald of Uisce Éireann said: "We understand the inconvenience when a large burst of this nature occurs, and we are working to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible. We thank the community for their support while our works continue."
