Clancy Construction has achieved ISO 50001:2018 certification for its Energy Management System, marking a significant step in its sustainability and responsible business programme.
ISO 50001 is an internationally recognised energy management standard that gives organisations a structured framework to improve energy performance, raise efficiency, cut consumption and reduce environmental impact. The certification applies to energy use across Clancy's construction projects nationwide, as well as associated operations at its headquarters in Drangan, Co. Tipperary.
The achievement underlines Clancy's ongoing commitment to embedding sustainable practices throughout the business. By implementing a comprehensive Energy Management System, the company has put in place processes to monitor, measure and continually optimise how energy is used across its operations. This approach helps identify efficiency opportunities, minimise waste and support the transition to a lower‑carbon construction industry.
The certification reflects a collaborative effort across the organisation. From project sites and operational teams to the Sustainability Department and leadership, colleagues have driven energy awareness and integrated best practice into day‑to‑day activities.
The ISO 50001 framework promotes continuous improvement, ensuring energy considerations are built into decision‑making from site establishment and equipment selection to procurement and office operations. It provides a clear route to lowering energy consumption while maintaining the high standards of quality and performance expected by clients and partners.
As Clancy continues to deliver projects across Ireland, the certification reinforces its pledge to build in a more sustainable and environmentally responsible way. By enhancing energy performance and shrinking its environmental footprint, the company aims to create long‑term value for clients, supply chain partners, employees and the communities in which it works.
