BMC Manufacturing, the Irish electrical engineering firm, has unveiled plans to add 500 roles by the end of 2028 in a major scale-up backed by Enterprise Ireland. Most of the new positions will be based at the company's Dublin facilities, with further hires in Co Meath, spanning engineering, technology and operations.

Founded in Co Meath in 1991, BMC Manufacturing provides low voltage switchgear and critical power solutions used worldwide in digital infrastructure. The expansion reflects stronger demand from industry partners and global data centre operators, including Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Welcoming the announcement, Peter Burke TD, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, said: "The Government, working with our colleagues from Enterprise Ireland and from across the enterprise ecosystem, is committed to supporting Irish companies to scale and become global leaders in their field, and BMC Manufacturing is a clear reflection of that. The jobs news was announced at BMC's Dublin site as Enterprise Ireland published its Annual Business Results for 2025, showing record client exports of €38.86bn. That figure represents an 8% rise year on year and an 89% increase since 2015, when exports totalled €20.6bn. Client companies also spent a record €43.73bn in the Irish economy last year—nearly €120m per day—on payroll, goods and services.

Growth was recorded across all major markets. Exports to Europe and the UK each surpassed €11bn for the first time, accounting for 29% of total exports respectively. North America remained the third-largest market at €7.34bn, up 1%, while the Nordics rose 39% to €2.78bn, now representing 7% of exports compared with 3% in 2015, driven largely by High-Tech Construction.

Sectoral performance in 2025 was positive across the board. Food, Drink, Nutrition and ClimateTech exports reached €16.98bn (up 5%); Advanced Manufacturing, Construction & Lifesciences climbed to €13.16bn (up 14%); and Technology, Services & Consumer rose to €8.72bn (up 5%). Particularly strong showings came from High-Tech Construction and Climate Tech & Renewable Energy, both up 24%, while Digital Technologies exports increased by 12%.

Commenting on the results, Minister Burke said: "These results published today by Enterprise Ireland on behalf of its client base demonstrate the strength, ambition and resilience of Irish enterprise. Achieving record levels of exports is a clear reflection of the innovation and global competitiveness of our companies, supported by Enterprise Ireland. These results underline the important role Irish businesses play in driving economic growth, creating jobs and strengthening Ireland's position in international markets. The Irish government is committed to supporting these companies to continue to grow, and we will continue to work with our partners in Enterprise Ireland and from across the ecosystem to ensure we deliver a supportive economic environment where they can thrive."

In an increasingly competitive and ever-changing global economic environment, these results reflect our client companies' resilience and agility, and are a testament to their ability to adapt and diversify. Their export growth has a huge economic impact at home, and Enterprise Ireland is very proud of the €43.73bn contribution these companies made to the Irish economy in terms of expenditure last year, equating to almost €120m per day, and they now employ 232,425 people in towns and villages around the country.

BMC Manufacturing specialises in designing and producing high-value power infrastructure for the global data centre industry, including low voltage switchgear and power distribution units. Enterprise Ireland said the agency will continue to work with the company as it scales its Irish operations and targets international growth.
