Uisce Éireann has welcomed an announcement from Minister Browne regarding housing activation, which features the advancement of 82 critical projects designed to speed up the construction of new homes across Ireland. The majority of these developments will see the installation of essential water and wastewater infrastructure alongside the construction of new roads and other vital utilities.
The provision of timely and dependable water and wastewater services is crucial for transforming planning permissions into actual residential properties. Uisce Éireann has stated its commitment to partnering with the Government, local authorities, and delivery bodies to prevent infrastructure from acting as a bottleneck to the housing supply. By utilising early engagement, coordinated planning, and strategic investment, the utility provider continues to focus on water and sewerage solutions that facilitate large-scale housing, with a particular emphasis on high-demand towns and cities. This infrastructure-led strategy directly aligns with broader governmental housing goals and highlights the focus on removing major delivery obstacles.
For many of the schemes unveiled by the Minister under the Housing Infrastructure Investment Fund, Uisce Éireann has synchronised its investment programmes, progressed design and delivery phases, and scheduled works to fast-track the deployment of critical infrastructure. The utility company remains dedicated to supporting nationwide housing delivery and will maintain its collaboration with stakeholders to assist in transforming activated construction sites into completed homes for families and individuals.
