Uisce Éireann is making consistent advancements on its multi-million-euro investment scheme designed to fortify and protect the water supply in Clonmel.
Essential upgrade operations are moving forward at the Monroe Water Treatment Plant. Additionally, the installation of 15km of new watermains, which link the Monroe facility to the Giant's Grange reservoir, was successfully completed a short time ago. The initiative is set to provide substantial enhancements to the drinking-water infrastructure of the town, guaranteeing a more resilient, dependable, and secure supply for residential and commercial properties across Clonmel and its environs.
To accommodate the ongoing improvement works at the Monroe Water Treatment Plant, scheduled outages are required, which could affect consumers in sections of Clonmel next week. The planned disruption is set to impact those located on Fethard Road, Rathronan Road, and the immediate surrounding areas. Affected consumers may face an interruption to their supply on Tuesday, 23 June, between 9.30am and 2pm.
Uisce Éireann's Diane Carroll said: "We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. Every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works, and we would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation."
"Following the completion of the works, it can take two to three hours for normal water supply to return to customers as water refills the network, particularly for those properties on higher ground or at the end of the network."
