Repairs are under way on a significant burst to a water main feeding the Ennis Water Treatment Plant, with crews on site.
Customers in Ennis and surrounding areas may experience supply interruptions and low pressure while the complex fix is completed.
To assist affected households and businesses, an alternative water supply will be available from 9am on Tuesday at Ennis Mart. Customers should bring their own containers and boil the water before drinking as a precautionary measure.
Uisce Éireann's Darragh Conneely said crews are focused on restoring normal service as quickly as possible while limiting disruption. "We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage, and we thank customers for their support while repair works continue. Once repairs are complete, we would ask customers in the impacted areas to be mindful that it may take longer for normal supply to be fully restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges."
In most cases, supply returns within three to four hours after repairs are completed, though customers on higher ground or at the end of the network may have to wait longer as the system refills.
