Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a significant burst on a rising main along the N22 between Farranfore and Killarney, with complex repair works under way at Knockduff and expected to continue until 8pm tonight.

The utility said it is working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible following the early-morning incident, with teams mobilised immediately to tackle the break.

For the safety of workers and the public, traffic management is in place and clearly signposted on the N22 between Farranfore and Killarney. Where practical, motorists may wish to use an alternative route via the N70 and N72 through Farranfore, Castlemaine and Fossa. This is an advisory measure while repairs continue. Customers in Castleisland and Tralee may experience reduced pressure or temporary supply disruption.

Typically, most customers see supply return within three to four hours after repairs are completed. However, those at the end of the network or on higher ground may wait longer as the system recharges. Uisce Éireann’s Eoin O’Connell said every effort is being made to restore a full and reliable service as soon as possible.
