Gas Networks Ireland has appointed John Ginnane as Community Liaison Officer for its Strategic Gas Emergency Reserve (SGER) project, strengthening engagement with people living closest to the proposed development.

A native of Kildysart, County Clare, Ginnane brings extensive local knowledge and deep community connections built over decades of voluntary involvement. He has served on a range of local groups and committees, including the Playground Committee, the local GAA club, the Parish Council, and the Board of Management at the National School, and is the current Chairperson of Kildysart Community Centre.

Professionally, Ginnane has more than 35 years’ experience with ESB at the Moneypoint Generating Station, where he developed a strong reputation for reliability, clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement. Speaking about his appointment, John Ginnane said: “I’m pleased to take on this role and to work closely with the local community.
