Radius Housing has achieved Platinum Tenant Participation Accreditation from Supporting Communities, a mark that recognises excellence in tenant involvement, strong results for residents and an industry-leading approach across the sector.
Platinum status signals robust leadership and innovation, a deep and enduring commitment to tenant engagement and continuous improvement. The accreditation notes the service is sustainable, influences wider practice and policy through shared learning, and offers a model others in the sector can replicate.
"Radius remains a high-performing organisation that embraces and supports engagement. Tenant participation is embedded across Radius. It actively listens to tenants at community and association wide levels; it listens and acts and provides resources to enable engagement," said Lesley Baird, Tenant Participation Expert Scotland.
In the report, the awarding panel commented: "Really excellent practice with tenant involvement in improving repairs, good to see this practice being extended to other services. Evidence that TP is embedded into the organisation from the top, getting involved and understanding TP is in the culture of Radius. Many organisations can learn from this."
Assessors also acknowledged the significant progress made since the previous accreditation, highlighting proposed collaboration with the NI Youth Forum and the development of an Equality Action Plan as clear evidence of inclusive practice.
While the assessment identified areas for further improvement, it noted Radius had taken past recommendations seriously and followed through, translating feedback into tangible changes. The organisation reiterated its commitment to excellence in tenant participation.
"This accreditation is a recognition of our tenants, whose feedback, ideas and involvement help shape the services we provide every day. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to engage with us and work in partnership to make improvements. Achieving Platinum status reflects our commitment to putting tenants at the heart of decision-making, and I would like to thank our staff teams, Supporting Communities and the independent assessors for their support, challenge and encouragement throughout the process. While we are proud of this achievement, we remain committed to listening, learning and continuously improving for our tenants and communities," said Loma Wilson, Radius Director of Communities.
A stand-out finding from the report stated: "Radius continue to make efforts and develop a series of ongoing initiatives to better engage with young people, ethnic minorities, and other groups who are considered hard to reach."
