Uisce Éireann To Repair Strategic Pipeline Over August Bank Holiday Weekend

Construction News Image

Wicklow County Council has been advised that Uisce Éireann will carry out significant water infrastructure works over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

To facilitate essential repairs, the strategic pipeline linking the Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant and the Saggart Reservoir will be taken out of service for a limited period.

Uisce Éireann said extensive preparations are under way to minimise disruption, but some customers in parts of Wicklow may experience reduced water pressure, discoloured water or temporary interruptions to supply during the works and immediately afterwards.

Specialist teams will operate within a tightly controlled shutdown window to complete the repairs safely and return the pipeline to service as quickly as possible. The utility said maintaining supplies for homes, businesses, hospitals, healthcare settings and other critical services will remain a key priority throughout the operation.

Customers are asked to be mindful of their usage and to conserve water where possible over the August Bank Holiday weekend to help maintain local supplies while these essential works are completed.
