Galway County Council has launched a public consultation on the county's inaugural Outdoor Recreation Strategy and is inviting residents to share their views.

A series of workshops will run throughout August, offering communities, outdoor clubs, landowners and enthusiasts of walking, cycling, mountain biking and water sports the chance to contribute.

Feedback gathered will guide investment and improvements to outdoor facilities across County Galway over the next five years.

Consultation workshops:

- Oughterard Courthouse – Monday 10 August, 7pm

- Athenry Community Hall – Tuesday 11 August, 2pm–4pm

- Harmony Hall, Tuam – Tuesday 11 August, 7pm

- Ballinasloe Family and Community Resource Centre – Wednesday 12 August, 2pm–4pm

- Temperance Hall, Loughrea – Wednesday 12 August, 7pm

Anyone with an interest in the outdoors is encouraged to attend and help shape the future of recreation in Galway.

An online survey will be available on Galway.ie from Monday 17 August to Monday 31 August for those unable to attend in person, providing another opportunity to share feedback.
