Collooney Water Main Upgrades Secure Reliable Supply

Homes and businesses in Collooney are now enjoying a more dependable water supply following Uisce Éireann's completion of a water main replacement scheme in the town.

More than 740 metres of ageing and damaged water mains have been swapped for modern pipes to improve network performance, cut the risk of bursts and bolster service reliability for the community.

Works took place along the L7609/L76093 from Collooney Methodist Church to Markee Heights, and on the L7609 from Bungee Row to St. Mary's Green. In addition, 33 backyard water service connections were replaced to further strengthen the local network.

Welcoming the completion of the works, Uisce Éireann's Programme Manager, Patricia Lowry, said: "The successful completion of these works is good news for the Collooney community. Customers will now benefit from a stronger and more reliable water supply, with fewer interruptions and a more resilient network. We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and support while these important upgrades were delivered."

The project was delivered by Farrans Construction on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
