Fingal County Council has confirmed that construction of the Rathmore Park Recreational Sports Hub in Lusk, Co Dublin will start today, Monday 24 August 2026.
The project will deliver bulk earthworks, drainage and watermain installation, and a GNI gas main diversion. It also includes an eight-lane, floodlit athletics track built to World Athletics (IAAF) specification, new all-weather synthetic soccer and GAA training pitches, covered cycle parking, EV charging facilities, an expanded car park and associated landscaping.
During the construction phase, public access to the northern area of Rathmore Park will remain via the existing pedestrian route alongside Lusk Community College and the RALET boundary. Vehicular access to Lusk United AFC will continue via the shared bridge over the Rathmooney Stream off the R127, with pedestrian access maintained via the signed walkway from the R127. Traffic and pedestrian management measures will be in place throughout to provide clear guidance and protect the safety, health and welfare of the public.
